The Principal Upanishads
Complete Edition
The Upanishads are the philosophical heart of the Vedic tradition — a series of dialogues, meditations, and teachings on the nature of the self (Atman) and its identity with the absolute ground of being (Brahman). “That art thou” — tat tvam asi — is their central insight: you are that which you seek. The apparent separation between the individual soul and the cosmic whole is illusion.
