READING GUIDE

Early Christian Writings Outside the Bible

Read the Didache, Epistle of Barnabas, Acts of Paul and Thecla and other early Christian writings with translation history, manuscript evidence and canonical claims kept distinct.

What sits outside the New Testament?

Early Christian literature includes teaching manuals, letters, narratives, dialogues and revelations. Their absence from a modern Bible does not mean they all had the same status or history.

Why manuscripts matter

A work may survive in one manuscript, several witnesses or a later historical translation. Codex ISO states the edition scope before interpreting what the text means.
